š¾ Are you a New Year’s resolution kinda person?
As the world is welcoming in 2022, the New Year is the perfect time to reflect on your goals. Both personal AND business!
Ask yourself:
A few BIG things happened to me and for A Creative Co that drastically changed my plans. And with those life changes, automatically came business changes.
I did a lot of deep diving to figure out what was best for me moving forward in 2022, who I wanted to be, and where I wanted to take my career. And I’d encourage you to ALL do the same.
In this blog post, I’m going to share with you my five business goals this year so you can take inspiration and get a behind-the-scenes peek at where my business is going.
ā It’s time to get rid of everything that’s not important.
From the tools you use to the clients you’re simply not aligned with anymore.
For me, that meant ending my contracts with my last few remaining one-on-one monthly retainer clients.
As a Social Media Strategist, I stopped accepting new social media management clients a while ago. But I always thought I would keep my four to five core management clients that have been with me since the beginning.
BUT here’s what I realized:
#1: It wasn't bringing me joy anymore.
#2: I've grown out of that phase of doing implementation in my business.
Even though I now have a team to support me, I realized it wasn’t where I wanted to be spending my time and energy.
You don’t have to continue to do something JUST because it’s what you started with or because it’s what you know. People grow, businesses grow, and we move into better systems and offers that align with our life goals and vision.
This is the time to take a step back and figure out how you’re going to make your business work for YOU.
That moves us directly to point number two. š
Do you enjoy your current way of working? Or are there certain parts of your services that you need to let go of?
I had a revelation at the end of 2021 and thought to myself, I’m going to focus on the aspects of my business I’m good at. I’m going to simplify it and do it WELL.
And YOU can do the same. šŖ
For me, that means doubling down on social media strategy and consulting and ditching the rest. ā
When I used to sign a client, I would bring them on and build out their ENTIRE social media strategy, their ENTIRE content strategy, and then my team and I would go and execute.
In 2022, I’m simply going to remove that execution portion of my service.
I still get to work one-on-one with small business owners, but now, I give them and their team the strategy, and let them run with it!
And if they need that extra support with implementing, I can always send them a referral for a social media manager from my membership community, The Creative Content Lab.
The moral of the story: If it’s not what you want to do… Then don’t do it.
Do what you enjoy and do it well.
Not only will you appreciate your services more, but you’ll also find your quality of work is higher because of it. It’s a win-win, right? š
Sure, having a few monthly retainer clients is great!
But what about exploring different avenues that you’re interested in that can bring you in more money?
That’s what I’m focusing on this year.
You’ll find me focusing on:
There are SO many different options you can start to uncover.
Eventually, I want to focus exclusively on being a thought leader in the Social Media space. I’ve already started to carve my way into social media education and can truly say empowering others in this way is my calling.
So find what you’re most passionate about and go for it.
I'm not saying my path is for everybody and there’s absolutely NOTHING wrong with managing day-to-day clients. But if you feel like it’s worth exploring… go explore, my friends!
If you’re anything like I used to be, you have a million apps, a million processes, and SO much stuff going on.
You’re trying to go big. To be the big-time CEO you think you should be.
I feel you. At the start of my Social Media career, I put my all into running a HUGE social media agency. I wanted to be super successful.
But when I actually achieved that big social media agency with a ton of clients and team members, I realized it wasn’t what I wanted at all.
I was absolutely burnt out for the last half of 2021 and with everything else going on in my life, I NEVER want to feel like that ever again
It’s okay to remove yourself from the business as much as possible and it’s okay to not want a multi-million dollar business.
You might want something that just supports your dreams and your lifestyle.
I'm bringing the reins back in 2022 and making sure A Creative Co is a well-oiled machine that I can take a break from if I need to. Simplifying will be the name of the game! šŖ
If you don't follow me on social media, the Creative Content Lab is a resource and education space for social media managers to grow their own agencies.
It’s what I’ve put my heart and soul into for the last couple of years.
And this year, I want to take it to the next level.
Previously, I delivered modules every month, but now I'm taking it up a notch by bringing in guest experts for masterclasses you DON’T want to miss. We have virtual networking events, cute little Zoom coffee dates, and not forgetting the all-important evening happy hour (bring your glass of wine friends šš·)
I’m making sure the Creative Content Lab membership is a hub for people to learn how to become Social Media Managers and help them grow in this ever-expanding industry.
Tell me, what goals are you setting for yourself this year?
